Desert Dove Farm is always seeking enthusiastic individuals who are interested in helping with various volunteer opportunities. Listed below are some ways that you can become involved with our agency.
Horse Care
Do you have horse knowledge and experience? Are you interested in helping care for our program horses? This can include feeding, hand walking, grooming, bathing and some light exercise for some of the horses. There is no riding involved or available. Some of our horses need extra TLC and it is a great bonding experience for our volunteers. Our small ponies are especially fun and entertaining to spend time with and the extra physical work keeps them fit and trim.
Community Awareness
Are you active within the Community? Do you enjoy talking with people about things that are important to you? Desert Dove Farm is always looking for individuals who want to learn about equine-assisted psychotherapy and its impact on our clients. With this knowledge you can help our Program grow and thrive by educating other community members or inviting our staff to speak to local groups and businesses. Every person that is involved with Desert Dove farm has their own unique network of people who may be interested in our work. As our community support system grows so does the number of youth we are able to work with.
Freeman Abs
Do you enjoy physical work? We greatly appreciate anyone who would like to help with facility maintenance and/or barn chores. This workout can include everything from landscaping to mucking stalls to small construction projects. In this case, your volunteer hours are flexible to fit your schedule.

All volunteers must have a meeting with our Volunteer Coordinator and Executive Director before beginning any volunteer positions. There are not any requirements other than a desire to help youth and have confidence around horses.
